My determination and courage were put to the test, demanding resilience and adaptability at every turn. From experiencing a new culture for the first time to building my knowledge and confidence in the real estate industry, each challenge became a stepping stone toward creating a life filled with purpose.
Born and raised in Belarus, I moved to the United States in 2007 with dreams of mastering English and immersing myself in a new culture. Armed with a degree in linguistics and economics, I chose Lake George, New York, a beautiful town by the lake and mountains, to be the place for my new adventure. This marked the beginning of a journey filled with challenges and opportunities that shaped my future in ways I had never imagined.
Upon my arrival, language was my first hurdle. Although I was proficient in German, English was unfamiliar territory. Determined to succeed, I started my American career as a housekeeper—an entry-level job where language barriers were minimal. As I gradually mastered English, my career trajectory shifted. I advanced from managing a salad bar to waitressing, using every interaction as a chance to enhance my language skills and understand American culture.
I decided to move closer to Boston and enrolled at Johnson & Wales University, earning an MBA in 2011. Concurrently, I climbed the ranks in the restaurant industry, eventually securing a management position at a corporate restaurant in Alexandria, Virginia. Despite the distance, my heart remained in Massachusetts, and I soon returned to Boston to lead a large team at the Chart House.
For several years, I worked in restaurant management, which equipped me with essential leadership skills and taught me how to oversee a diverse team with confidence. This period was rewarding, but life had more in store. Meeting my future husband, Wilson, at the restaurant changed everything. As we got to know one another and started picturing our life together, I no longer saw myself returning to Belarus or moving abroad; I had found my place.
Choosing to have a better work-life balance, I left the high demands of restaurant management and transitioned to a sales role in a restoration company, aligning my career with Wilson's expertise in construction. This job honed my ability to forge strong relationships, manage stress and conduct business with empathy—skills critical when helping families recover from disasters.
As we started our family, Wilson and I chose Newton, Massachusetts, a vibrant community near Boston, as our new home. We kept on building and growing our business, WR Builders, Inc. We started with modest house flips and gradually took on multi-million-dollar development projects. The journey wasn't simple; it demanded endless learning, networking and stepping out of my comfort zone, particularly when raising funds for substantial projects. However, all my experiences leading up to this point prepared me and gave me the confidence to keep pushing forward.
Our success became evident through a distinct design style recognized across our projects, a testament to our hard work and creative vision. As our company grew, Wilson and I focused on our passions—he continued to manage the construction operations, and I embraced my role as a licensed REALTOR®. For me, working directly with people to achieve their goals is very fulfilling.
As a REALTOR®, I cherish being a part of my client’s stories, whether they're buying their first home, investing or finding a new community. Each client's journey is unique and guiding them through the process is incredibly rewarding. My experiences have taught me the importance of resilience, adaptability and the enduring value of relationships.
I’m grateful that by stepping out of my comfort zone and embracing new opportunities, I have created a life filled with purpose and many amazing people. With three kids, Nathaniel, Vera Ann, and Scarlett, I’m very fortunate to have my parents spend part of the year here to be with us. As a family, we stay very active, snowboarding during the winter and spending the warmer months biking, hiking, and going to the beach—no matter what time of year it is, we love to be outside enjoying nature!
When my husband and I first started investing in real estate, we bought a home that needed a complete makeover in the mountains of New Hampshire. We spent a long time renovating it, putting our heart and soul into creating a space for our family on a limited budget. This has become a beloved vacation home for us, and in 2020, it was a sanctuary for our family through unprecedented times. Just as this home became a source of comfort and stability for us, I am committed to helping others discover properties that not only meet their practical needs but also resonate with their lifestyle and goals.
My construction, staging and design experience gives me a unique edge, allowing me to provide valuable insights that go beyond the typical responsibilities of a REALTOR®. I can help my listing clients reimagine a space to get the highest offer possible and help homeowners envision the potential of their new home, finding the best way to maximize the space. I strive to make a significant difference in the lives of those I work with, ensuring every client feels supported, well-represented, listened to, and genuinely cared for like a friend. Even after the transaction is over, I am committed to supporting you into the next chapter as your lifelong real estate agent!
